Leave if No Response by Abby Fisher

A queer Jewish coming-of-age story, Leave if No Response follows best friends Mira and Ariel as they grow up in a modern Orthodox Jewish community. When Ariel comes out to Mira, the two grow apart, and their lives unfold in opposite directions. Ariel revels in the questions of queer adulthood, while mourning the loss of the community that raised her. Mira searches for answers in Orthodox life, unable to quiet her suspicions that she may be queer. Together, they remember what was. Apart, they wonder what could have been.
